 Master Retreat
When the time came to update this couple’s master suite, our design choices were inspired by the
beautiful setting of their log cabin and the need for the remodel to flow with the rest of the home.
Aside from the sumptuous bed, the see-through gas fireplace is the focal point of this rustically elegant
suite. It can be seen from the bedroom and also from the bath where the state-of-the art shower is
framed by 2 custom designed cherry cabinets with hand-poured concrete vanity tops and mosaic
travertine bowls. Curl up with a good book by the fire or soak in the air-jet tub – an evening here feels like a visit to the spa. Pour some wine and light the candles! |
 Tuscany
The painting of a Tuscan hillside rich with deep reds, inspiring greens, seductive plums, and luscious browns that capture the essence and charm of a recent trip to Italy was the inspiration for the design
choices made in this home. The client’s desire was that the home be casually elegant – a place where
friends could gather and relax – be in the moment – but also be enveloped with a sense of grandeur – to
be nurtured by beautiful things. “Casual” was achieved with the use of big, plush furniture that invites
folks to sit for a good, cozy conversation. “Elegance” was achieved by the use of mirrors, voluminous
trims and lots of silky drapery fabric – some even puddling in the floor. This is a home where feelings
and friendships run deep – just as the hues convey a richness in every room.
It’s almost like going to another country as family and guests are invited into the ambience of fond
memories and magical moments found in a far away land. |
 Beach Home
Inspiration? Well – kind of easy here. We drew that from the setting …. Colors of the ocean, sand, and
sky. Watery glass and rich ceramic tiles in “fifty-eleven” shades of blue, green, and putty run through
the house and up some of the walls. What fun! What a total work of art!
No detail left to chance. From the hardware on the kitchen cabinets to the commissioned tile mosaic,
and custom-designed built-ins – this place is designed to be an “…aaahhhh…” – a soothing retreat from a
hectic and busy world.
This is new construction and not quite finished yet. Please check back soon for photo postings. |
 Victorian
How do you bring a grand old Victorian home back to her glory days? You start with a client who has a spirit big enough to fill it and then add her lifetime collection of furniture and accessories. Top it off with her passion to create a home filled with warmth and elegant charm. My role here was to design period window treatments to further enhance her vision of the home. Luscious red, green, and gold patterned fabrics were sculpted into swags, jabots, cascades, and flowing drapery panels, while underneath – the piece de resistance – lacy Austrian shades. Just stepping in the front door feels like a great big hug as the home irresistibly conveys the client’s dream – a home born of love, hope, new beginnings and gentle attention to detail. |
 Stonehurst Place B&B
Working with the owner/client, we designed window treatments and provided some of the furnishings,
carpeting, and lighting to enhance her overall vision. She wanted this home to be an oasis of serenity,
luxury, and comfort – much like some of the European hotels in which she has stayed. That feeling
prevailed as we wove ivories all through the house bringing cohesiveness to several different styles of
design found in varying rooms. You’ll see Barbara Barry furniture featured in the parlor and dining room
giving a nod to art deco. There are five bedrooms/baths in all: 2 in Hollywood Glam, 1 dubbed “High
Queen”, and 2 contemporary/modern. This house is a feast for the eyes and nourishment to the soul.
